BKSA Hunstanton (07/2010)
My 4th year at the BKSA Hunstanton turns out to be yet again a fun event and for the first time ever, I compete in the Pro Kitesurf catergory. After two days of no wind, Sunday provided fairly amazing conditions and allowed the BKSA to complete nearly every catagory with only a final in the youths and seniors not completed.

The pro competition was completed well before midday and in my first heat I was up against 2009 Junior Champion, Dan Sweeny and last years 3rd place in the pros Ned Taylor- Not the nicest of heats at all and it all proved a bit too much for me as I never got into the flow of things on my 9m Hadlow so finished last place.

In the second round (loosers round). I was up against Dan James and James Thorne who had both been unlucky and lost their rounds. Luckily for me, I got my confidence back and landed nearly all my tricks and advanced through to the next round. The next round I was fully focused and knew that I could come 2nd to Luke Whiteside (one of the favourites to win this year!) and still make the final via one more loosers final. Unbelievably, I beat Luke Whiteside and Sam Moore due a consistent display of tricks, putting me straight into the final!! What a result for my first ever pro competition having lost the first round and worked back to the final beating some of the most talented riders in the UK.

The final, myself, Oli Sweeney and Ned Taylor was interesting to say the least. I started well with 3-4 well executed tricks but unfortantly broke my foot strap which ruined everything! Despite borrowing someone elses board, I never really got used to it and was a clear 3rd place overall! A disappointing final heat but I was so happy with the results and am motivated to come back stronger for the next competition which takes place next month in Barrow, Cumbria.
